Description
The Congo Cockatoo or Parrot Plant is a rare and much sought-after tropical perennial - that happens to be easy to grow. Its unusual flowers dangle happily all over the plant, like little tropical birds! It likes warm and humid conditions and can go outdoors somewhere shaded on the patio or decking from May onwards, until the weather cools. Alternatively keep Impatiens niamniamensis indoors as a spectacular and interesting conservatory plant! Height: 90cm (36"), Spread: 50cm (20").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

Please note: Some houseplants are toxic or harmful to pets if ingested. If you believe your pet has consumed a poisonous plant then seek veterinary attention immediately. Take a sample of the plant with you.

How to Grow
Impatiens niamniamensis enjoys a brightly lit spot with some protection from direct sunlight during the hottest part of the day in summer. This tender perennial requires a minimum temperature of 10C (50F) but prefers a warmer position of around 15C (60F) to 24C (75F).
More Info
Water frequently to maintain evenly moist compost. Avoid leaving the Parrot Plant in standing water as this may cause it to rot. In winter, reduce watering but do not allow the compost to dry out completely. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
