Description

This amazing new tricolour variety is bound to turn heads! Hydrangea macrophylla 'Three Sisters Pastel' blooms in three perfectly harmonious shades all in one neat and compact plant, meaning you can enjoy an easy and low maintenance varied display even where space is limited. An excellent choice for growing in pots where it can be shown off on the patio when its looking its best, or for small beds in partially shaded areas. The large mophead blooms provide a bright and prolific display during summer and into autumn. Allow the flower heads to turn brown in autumn and enjoy their magical frosted charm through the winter months too. Over the years this shrub establishes into a neat, rounded shape with lush green foliage. The flower heads also make wonderful cut flowers, fresh or dried. Height: 50cm (20”). Spread: 50cm (20”).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Hydrangea macrophylla prefers a sunny or semi shaded position, with shelter from cold, drying winds. Grow hydrangea plants in any rich fertile, moist soil. Improve the soil prior to planting by adding with plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost, ensuring that it is mixed in thoroughly and deeply. Alternatively plant hydrangea macrophylla in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
More Info
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Leave the faded hydrangea flower heads in place until the new buds swell in spring to protect the delicate buds from frost damage. Prune after flowering, reducing the stems to restrict their growth to the available space and to improve the shape of the plant. After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: Contact with hydrangea foliage may irritate the skin and eyes and all parts are harmful if eaten.
