Hydrangea paniculata ‘Living Raspberry Pink’ is a delightful mid-sized variety of panicle hydrangea that captivates gardeners with its stunning floral display. At the start of the growing season, this plant showcases creamy-white blossoms that gradually evolve into enchanting soft raspberry-pink shades. This transformation occurs over an impressive flowering period of approximately 100 days, ensuring that your garden remains vibrant and colorful throughout the summer and into early autumn. The large, conical flower panicles not only add visual interest but also create a striking contrast against the lush green foliage.
The growth habit of ‘Living Raspberry Pink’ is bushy and rounded, characterized by strong, upright stems that support the abundant blooms. The leaves are oval-shaped and possess a slightly glossy texture, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the plant. This hydrangea thrives in a variety of conditions, preferring full sun to partial shade and flourishing in moist, well-drained soil. It is remarkably adaptable, capable of growing in clay, loam, and a range of pH levels, from acidic to alkaline. Its hardiness is another appealing trait, as it can withstand cold winters down to approximately –30 °C, making it a reliable choice for gardens across the UK.
Caring for ‘Living Raspberry Pink’ is relatively straightforward, requiring minimal maintenance to keep it looking its best. A simple pruning in late winter or early spring encourages robust branching and promotes the development of abundant flower panicles. The sturdy stems of this hydrangea not only support the large flower heads effectively but also make it an excellent choice for cutting, allowing you to bring the beauty of your garden indoors. With its long-lasting blooms and resilience, this hydrangea is sure to be a cherished addition to any landscape. Height: 90 cm (35 in) Spread: 90 cm (35 in)

Pruning:
Hydrangea paniculata flowers on the current season’s growth and will flower better if pruned annually. Establish a permanent framework to the desired height and every spring prune back all growth to this framework. At the same time, remove any dead or damaged growth.
For even larger flowers on erect stems, plants can be pruned back to a very low framework of only about a foot high.
After pruning hydrangeas, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost around the base of the plant. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes, harmful if eaten.
