Most Heleniums are a little too large for smaller gardens, but this one is perfectly proportioned for smaller borders or patio containers as well as having the advantage of blooming earlier. From midsummer onwards it produces a profusion of daisy-like flowers with a chocolate cone surrounded by yellow and orange ray florets. The nectar rich blooms are loved by pollinating insects and by florists as the flowers are long-lasting in water. Unlike other varieties, Helenium ‘Short ‘n’ Sassy’ won’t require any staking but retains its neat habit even in exposed gardens. Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 60cm (24”).
