Description

Geranium Summer Lovers Collection brings together three colourful varieties that will brighten any garden! This trio of reliable, easy to grow Pelargoniums is perfect for patio pots or edging the front of borders. Bright green, scalloped foliage forms an upright, bushy mound topped with vibrant blooms. With regular deadheading, they will flower all summer long. Height and spread: 40cm (16").

Geranium Summer Lovers Collection comprises:

  • Geranium 'Grandeur® ‘Classic White Splash' – An eye-catching zonal Pelargonium boasts bright, bicolour flowers.
  • Geranium 'Grandeur® ‘Classic Rose Splash’Bicolour blooms make a bright display in patio pots and borders.
  • Geranium ‘Calliope Dark Red’ - Vigorous and robust with bold red blooms!

Although technically perennial, Pelargoniums are only half hardy and therefore normally treated as annuals in the UK. However, with care, they may be overwintered in a frost free greenhouse.

How to Grow
Pot up pelargonium plug plants and grow them on in warm frost-free conditions. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise geraniums to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days and transplant them into their final positions in containers and borders. Plant geraniums in a sunny or semi-shaded position, in any light, well drained soil. Pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage branching and form a bushier plant which will produce more flowers later on.
More Info
Feed and water geranium plants regularly, particularly during hot, dry periods. As the long stems increase in length, tie them onto a support such as a freestanding climbing frame, using soft twine to train them upwards. Pinch the stems back for a second time. Regular deadheading of geranium flowers will encourage further blooms to be produced throughout the summer.
