Geranium 'Orchid Blue' is a selection by Thompson & Morgan from the species Geranium bohemicum. A short-lived border and ground cover plant which self-seeds to keep continuity. Masses of 2cm (¾in.) flowers of orchid-blue, veined in purple-violet, borne on bushy plants. Makes a delightful show, particularly when situated in a sunny position in the border. Flowers summer. Height 30-45cm (12-18in).
1 packet (8 geranium seeds) (25448)
Sow from early February to late June in a good free draining seed compost just covering the seed with compost or vermiculite. Make sure the compost is moist but not wet and seal inside a polythene bag. Leave at a temperature of 13-15C (55-60F). Germination takes 21-60 days.
Transplant when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots and grow on in a cold frame. Plant out later 30cm (12in) apart into ordinary, free draining soil and full sun.
