Description
A new and improved variety of Witch Alder, this plant produces an exceptional array of blue leaves, turning rich-red to orange in autumn. White, honey-scented, bottlebrush flowers appear from mid to late spring. Fothergilla x intermedia 'Blue Shadow' is easily grown in average, moist, well-drained soils, in sun or part-shade. Height & Spread: 2m (6.5').

1 x 3 litre fothergilla plant (67931)
2 x 3 litre fothergilla plants (T67932P)

How to Grow
Fothergilla plants require ericaceous conditions. Grow Fothergilla in humus-rich, fertile, moist but well drained acid soil. Mountain Witch Alder tolerates a sunny or partially shaded position, but leaf autumn colour will be at its best if grown in full sun.
More Info
Prune Fothergilla plants when dormant, in late winter or early spring. Remove any damaged, diseased or poorly placed stems to maintain an attractive open framework.
