Description
A sport of Daphne odora 'Aureomarginata', and in most ways identical, except for the variegated foliage that gives it a quite unique appearance. Each evergreen leaf of Daphne odora ‘Rebecca’ sports a broad, creamy-yellow margin that makes a real impact. Throughout late winter and spring, the pastel pink flowers emerge from purple-red buds, followed by colourful berries. The powerful, sweet scent will drift through your garden on even the coldest winter day. A superb hardy, evergreen shrub with a neatly rounded habit that is perfect for even small garden borders. Height and spread: 150cm (59").

How to Grow
Pot up Daphne plants and grow them on in frost free conditions. When plants are well grown and all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for a period of 7 to 10 days prior to planting in their final positions. Transplant Daphne plants into borders and containers outdoors in moist, fertile, well drained soil that is rich in organic matter. Choose a position in sun or semi shade. When growing in containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3. Daphne resents root disturbance so try to avoid this when transplanting as this may delay plant establishment.
More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Once established, Daphne plants require only occasional attention. Pruning Daphne is best kept to a minimum, removing only occasional damaged stems and lightly trimming those that spoil the shape of the plant in summer after flowering. Caution: All parts of Daphne are toxic if eaten and contact with the sap may irritate the skin and eyes.
