Description

NEW - As seen at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018

Here’s a fabulous addition to our range of dahlia plants! Representing a major colour breakthrough as the red, yellow, orange and white areas on the petals give blooms an ever-changing appearance through the flowering period. In a never-before-seen colour combination, flowers will seemingly change colour as the season progresses. Blooming from mid-summer through to the end of autumn, the large, densely filled flower heads of Dahlia ‘Lubega Power Tricolor’ sit on firm, short stems and are ideal for containers as well as borders. As you can imagine, they make fantastic cut flowers too! Height and spread: 60cm (24").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Pot up Dahlia plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise dahlia plants to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days before planting out in beds, borders and containers. Choose a position in full sun on any rich fertile, moist, well drained soil.
More Info
Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While dahlia plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Bedding dahlia are generally grown as annuals, however dahlia tubers may be lifted in autumn and stored over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position if required. They can be potted up the following spring.
