Flowering Months

The dense, thick growth of Cyperus makes it a useful habitat for encouraging wildlife to the garden. Galingale plants are exotic-looking, with umbrella-like stems and foliage, and reddish-bronze spikelets during the height of summer. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 100cm (40").Planting depth: Zones 1, 2 & 3 to 25cm (10") below water level.

How to Grow

Plant Cyperus into consistently moist, boggy soil, or in the margins of ponds to a maximum depth of 25cm (10") below water level. Choose a position in sun or semi shade.

More Info

Cyperus require very little maintenance. Trim back the old foliage to just above water level in autumn.
