Hoped for better 2015-05-08
Average rate of germination (6 out of 16) and what have grown have stopped after producing their second leaf. Perhaps it all happens in year 2, will have to wait and see.

Big woodland project going well 2015-01-11
For a bit of woodland these are ideal. I started mine in Bread Creats, lined with free draining coal sacks. Into these I used sived leaf litter and woodland soil mixed with compost, put the seeds on top and scattered seed compost to cover. I stacked them in the guarrage as these need dark to germinate. They started sprouting in early spring. I moved them back into the woodland. Let them grow for a season, before planting. The first and second year they all came up together, but this year they started spreading through the season. I recomend this as a brilliant way of filling your woodland with flowers.
