Cordylines are well known for their ability to withstand salty winds and challenging conditions found in coastal areas, this hardy shrub is virtually maintenance-free and would sit well in modern or traditional planting schemes. This cultivar unlike much other Cabbage palm’s has a short, clump-forming habit, creating lots of new steams from its base once the main stem reaches around 1m. It spreads to around 1m and also grows in height to 1m (3’), making this Cordyline perfect for planting in pots and sitting on patios.
‘Pink Passion’ is a fantastic show-stopping feature plant, producing spiky foliage shaded in a grey-purple with contrasting striped fuchsia pink tops. Cordyline Australis ‘Pink Passion’ would sit well in a courtyard garden, creating a statement and adding year-round colour. ‘Pink Passion’ grows well in containers and is a dazzling architectural shrub, great for adding some dimension and height to your sunny borders.

Grow Cordylines on fertile, well drained soil. Choose a sheltered position in full sun. Cordylines are particularly well suited to mild coastal locations but do enjoy a fertile soil, so it is well worth incorporating some well rotted manure into the soil when planting.
More Info Feed and water regularly until fully established. Once established, Cordylines need little attention, but will require some winter protection should temperatures dip below -5C (23F). In cold areas it may be preferable to grow Cordylines in large patio containers that can be moved undercover during the coldest months.
