Centaurea montana 'Amethyst Dream' is a real garden gem! The grey-green foliage forms a spreading mound, bejewelled with spidery, royal purple flowers from late spring through to midsummer. This eye-catching variety makes a fine choice for filling gaps towards the front of borders. Perennial Cornflowers are hardy, reliable and easy to grow. Ideal for cottage garden borders and wildlife areas where they will attract bees and butterflies to their blooms. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

How to Grow

Grow Centaurea in borders in full sun. Perennial Cornflowers are drought tolerant once established and will happily tolerate almost any soil, except those that are excessively waterlogged.

Water Centaurea plants regularly until fully established. In autumn, cut back old stems to just above ground level to make way for new growth in the spring.
