Description

An unusual deciduous, climbing vine that is rarely seen, Celastrus orbiculatus is grown for its spectacular autumn foliage colour and glossy, jewel-like fruits. A vigorous, twining vine with broad, bright green leaves on long, trailing shoots and inconspicuous green flowers in summer. The real show comes in autumn, when the leaves turn butter yellow and the plant is covered in clusters of mustard-yellow fruit that split to reveal scarlet seeds within. It makes a striking and unusual specimen for a sunny wall. Both a male and female variety are required for plants to set fruit - plants will be from a random selection of both sexes. Height: 10m (32ft). Spread: 8m (26ft).

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
