Description
  • A stunning Canna Lily for growing on the patio in the UK
  • Add exotic colour to borders and containers
Bronzed red Canna Lily flowers contrast beautifully with the large, dark green leaves. Great for creating an exotic and showy display in borders or pots on the patio. After many years of development, these Canna Lilies differ from almost all other Canna on the market. Unlike other Canna Lilies, this variety will be early to flower and will bloom reliably outdoors in the UK and Europe. Height: 75cm (30") Spread: 40cm (16").

Culinary note: Canna lily rhizomes can be eaten raw and have a taste similar to water chestnut, although they are sometimes bitter. They can also be boiled and baked, in the same way as a potato and have a similar texture and taste. For more details about edible flowers click here.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Canna plants in frost free conditions until all risk of frost has passed. In spring, Canna plants can be gradually acclimatised to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting them in borders, beds and containers. Grow Cannas in fertile, moist, well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water Canna plants freely throughout the summer. Faded Canna flowers should be deadheaded to promote more flowers. In late autumn, when the first frosts blacken the foliage, the rhizomes should be lifted and stored in barely moist peat, in frost free conditions. Rhizomes can be replanted in spring for another fabulous display.
