What Is Butterfly Netting? Butterfly netting is a type of garden netting specifically designed to protect plants from butterflies and their caterpillars. It's made from UV-stabilised material that is lightweight, durable, and easy to use, ensuring long-lasting protection for your garden. How Do I Stop Cabbage White Butterflies? To prevent cabbage white butterflies from laying eggs on your crops, use butterfly netting with a small mesh size of 5mm x 7mm. This mesh effectively blocks the butterflies from accessing your plants, especially brassicas such as cabbage, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. How Do I Use Butterfly Netting? To use butterfly netting, drape it over your crops, ensuring there is enough space for plant growth and that the netting doesn’t touch the leaves. You can water and feed your plants through the netting, but you might need to remove it temporarily for pollination if you are covering crops that require it.
