Description
This striking, columnar shrub will fit into the smallest of borders, providing a bright splash of colour and a strong architectural focal point. The new foliage of Berberis thunbergii 'Florence' covers its upright stems with coral pink and orange leaves in spring. The colour deepens throughout the summer months, before colouring red in autumn. Tiny yellow flowers appear from late spring, followed by red berries by late summer. Like all Japanese Barberry plants, this deciduous shrub is hardy, reliable and easy to grow. A superb choice for sunny, mixed borders. Berberis thunbergii 'Florence' tolerates pruning well and also makes a neat, bushy hedging plant. Height: 150cm (59"). Spread: 60cm (24").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Plant Berberis in full sun or partial shade, on a reliably moist, well-drained soil. Barberry plants are extremely resilient and will grow on many different soil types, except waterlogged.
More Info
Berberis require little maintenance once established. Trim back the stems lightly after flowering, removing dead or damaged growth at the same time.
