Description

Argyranthemum aramis ‘Double Primrose’ is a delightful and compact variety of marguerite daisy that captivates with its soft pastel double blooms and tidy, fragrant foliage. This charming plant is an excellent choice for adding a splash of color to patios, containers, or summer borders, as it offers long-lasting floral displays that can brighten any outdoor space. Its appealing appearance and pleasant aroma make it a favorite among gardeners looking to enhance their landscapes with vibrant yet soothing hues.

The plant forms a well-branched, compact mound adorned with finely divided, aromatic grey-green leaves that provide a lush backdrop for its stunning flowers. From late spring through autumn, it produces an abundance of fully double, pale primrose-yellow blooms that resemble cheerful daisies, creating a striking visual impact. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, this variety is also drought-tolerant once established, making it a low-maintenance option for busy gardeners. To encourage continuous flowering, simply deadhead spent blooms and pinch back young shoots to maintain its compact growth habit.

In addition to its aesthetic appeal, Argyranthemum aramis ‘Double Primrose’ plays a vital role in supporting garden biodiversity by attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies. While it is often cultivated as an annual in cooler climates, it may survive as a short-lived perennial in milder regions, providing gardeners with the opportunity to enjoy its beauty for multiple seasons. With minimal care requirements and a knack for brightening any space, this charming daisy is a wonderful addition to any garden. Height: 40 cm (16 in) Spread: 40 cm (16 in).

How to Grow
When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise argyranthemum plants to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days. Plant them out in well drained soil in sunny borders. Alternatively, grow Argyranthemum in patio containers using good quality compost.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead faded Argyranthemum flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, move container-grown plants to a bright frost free position and reduce watering. In spring, prune back stems to within an inch of the previous year’s growth. Border grown plants are unlikely to survive the winter outside in all but the mildest areas.
