Swaying ornamental grasses are ideal for adding a sense of calm to your garden. Their slender foliage and architectural flowers spikes provide superb late season interest, that persists long into autumn. Our Architectural Grasses Collection combines three clump forming varieties. Plant them throughout herbaceous borders or use them for a textural contrast in mixed patio pots. They also a useful addition to sensory gardens.

Architectural Grasses Collection comprises:

  • Miscanthus ‘Ruby Cute’ - An arching, deciduous grass which is at its best in autumn when the slender green leaves turn to bright ruby red. Height and spread: 40cm (16").
  • Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Black Beauty' – Fluffy bottlebrush flowers are borne above an arching mound of slender green foliage. Height and spread: 100cm (39").
  • Molinia caerulea ssp. arundinacea 'Mostenveld' - A variegated variety, forming a neat tussock of cream and green striped leaves, which turn to gold in autumn. Height: 120cm (48”). Spread: 60cm (24”).

3 x 12cm potted plants (1 of each variety) (KC1119)

How to Grow
Grow ornamental grasses in fertile, moist, well drained soil in full sun, avoiding soils that sit wet in winter.
More Info
Feed and water grasses regularly until fully established. Cut back dead foliage and stems to ground level in early spring before new growth appears. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of grasses every third year to maintain their vigour.
