Description
An elegant border filler with beautiful, lacy white flower heads that float above ferny foliage. This graceful annual creates a soft froth of blooms that associate beautifully among herbaceous perennials. The airy blooms on slender stems are excellent for cutting, with a good vase life. Ammi flowers are also attractive to wildlife, luring bees and butterflies to their delicate blooms. Height: 140cm (55"). Spread: 50cm (20").

1 packet (100 ammi seeds) (25817)

Sowing
Direct sow ammi majus seeds outdoors where they are to grow from April to June in full sun or semi shade, on fertile, well drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of 1.5mm (1/16") in drills spaced 30cm (12") apart. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes 7-21 days. When ammi seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 25cm (10") apart.
More Info
Water regularly until plants become fully established. Ammi stems will require staking. Place twiggy sticks among the seedlings while they are 10cm (4") high and allow ammi plants to grow through them for support.
