Description

Alstroemeria 'Inticancha Doba' is a stunning, compact perennial that captivates with its brilliant red, funnel-shaped flowers, each embellished with dark brown spots and a striking yellow throat. This plant is celebrated not only for its extended blooming season, which lasts from late spring through the first frosts of autumn, but also for its versatility in garden design, thriving in both containers and borders. Its lush green foliage serves as a perfect backdrop to the vivid blooms, making it a must-have for any garden enthusiast looking to add a splash of color and attract pollinators like bees and butterflies.

Hardy down to about -5°C, it flourishes in full sun to partial shade, requiring just 4–6 hours of sunlight daily, and prefers fertile, well-drained soil to prevent root rot. With proper care, including regular deadheading and winter mulching, this perennial will not only enhance your garden's aesthetic but also provide long-lasting beauty in floral arrangements, making it an invaluable addition to your outdoor space.

Height & Spread: Reaches approximately 30–40 cm in height and spread, making it ideal for front borders and patio pots.

How to Grow
Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors. When all risk of frost has passed, plant Peruvian Lilies in a sunny or semi shaded position in fertile, moist, well drained soil. Alternatively, plant Alstroemeria in patio containers in soil based compost.

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Throughout the growing season, water Peruvian lilies regularly and feed container grown plants each month. When picking alstroemeria pluck the flowers rather than cutting as plucking stimulates the rhizome encourage further growth. In autumn, cut back the old Alstroemeria flower stems and apply a dry mulch of chipped bark or straw to the base of the plant to protect it from cold winter weather. Alstroemeria prefers to be left undisturbed but can be divided in autumn or spring if clumps become overcrowded. Caution: irritant to skin and eyes.
