Description

Agapanthus 'Mi Casa' is a remarkable perennial plant celebrated for its immaculate white flowers and vigorous growth. This particular cultivar enhances the elegance and vertical dimension of both gardens and containers. It seamlessly merges visual appeal with strong performance, rendering it an essential choice for gardens that desire a dependable and visually captivating perennial. The plant produces clusters of pure white, trumpet-shaped flowers on robust stems, creating a radiant display throughout its blooming season from June to August, thus ensuring an extended period of aesthetic enjoyment.

Its mid-green, strap-like leaves form a lush, clump-forming base that remains visually appealing even when the plant is not in bloom. With a height 1m and a spread of 50cm, it is adaptable to various garden environments. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, optimal flowering occurs in sunny areas. It prefers well-drained, fertile soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH, and the addition of organic matter can improve soil quality and drainage. Regular watering during the growing season is necessary to maintain consistent moisture, while care should be taken to prevent waterlogging. This cultivar is hardy in UK climates, withstanding temperatures as low as -5°C; in colder areas, mulching during winter can offer extra protection. It contributes vertical interest and elegance to mixed borders and garden beds, is perfect for patio containers, enhancing outdoor living spaces with sophistication, and its sturdy stems and enduring blooms make it an excellent option for floral arrangements.

More Info
Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
