Description
The extraordinary colour-changing foliage of Acer palmatum ‘Shirazz’ is simply captivating! Finely dissected, young leaves emerge coral pink, purple and pale green in spring. By summer, the foliage has matured to grey-green, with delicate margins of white and pink, creating an attractive, spreading canopy. Autumn brings shades of scarlet that light up the garden in a blaze of colour. This mesmerizing Japanese Maple is perfect for bringing year round interest to lightly shaded borders, and creating a striking focal point. Height and spread: 2.5m (8’).

1 x 3 litre potted acer plant (KB5875)

How to Grow
Grow Acer palmatum trees in any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or dappled shade. It is quite important to give plants shelter from strong winds which can scorch the leaves. Alternatively grow the Japanese Maple in large containers, using a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until Acer trees are well established, and always protect your plants from strong winds. Acers require little pruning other than to maintain their shape. Lightly trim stems if necessary from late autumn to midwinter.
