The fleshy leaves give this evergreen perennial astonishing drought tolerance – perfect for growing in dry conditions! Plant them in small groups and let them knit together through rockeries and narrow borders, or pot them into alpine troughs and terracotta bowls. How to Grow

Houseleeks require extremely good drainage. Grow sempervivum plants in sharply drained, gritty soil in full sun. Hairy species particularly resent cold, wet conditions and are best provided with some protection from winter weather.

Houseleeks are drought resistant and need little attention throughout the growing season. Divide overcrowded clumps in late spring to encourage their spread.
