Description
Rose of the year for 2020 is the elegant floribunda variety Rose ‘Sweet Honey’. This repeat flowering cultivar bears clusters of shapely, lightly scented blooms throughout the summer. The flowers are a delicate honey shade, which stand out beautifully against the dark, glossy foliage. With excellent disease resistance and a compact habit, Rose ‘Sweet Honey’ makes a fine addition to established rose beds, or as an individual specimen in sunny borders. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 75cm (29").

How to Grow
Plant bareroot roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.
More Info
Feed and water rose plants regularly and deadhead faded flowers. When growing roses it is necessary to remove any suckers that arise from the base of the plant, below the graft union. In winter, begin pruning floribunda roses by removing dead and diseased wood, and any rubbing or damaged branches. Then reduce the stems to 20cm (10") above ground level. Side shoots should be reduced to two buds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or compost to the base of the plant after pruning.
