Description
The graceful fronds of the Parlour Palm make this one of the most recognisable house plants! Popularised by the Victorians, it remains a firm favourite today. This elegant, slow growing palm boasts a stylish, architectural stature that complements almost any style of home. A reliable house plant for a bright room or conservatory, needing little maintenance throughout the year. Height: 250cm (98"). Spread: 150cm (59").

1 packet (25 seeds) (KB5911)

Sowing

Sow seeds on the surface of a good, free draining, damp seed compost and lighlty cover, 3mm (1/8") deep with vermiculite or compost. Place container in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag at a temperature of 25-30C (77-86F) until after germination which usually takes 10-42 days.

Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, taking care not to damage the fragile roots, into 7.5cm (3") pots. Pot on into a larger container each time roots fill the pot.

More Info
Water freely between spring and autumn using tepid rainwater where possible, and allowing the pot to drain well after each watering. In winter, reduce watering, but do not allow the compost to dry out. House plants should be fed regularly between March and September when they are in active growth.
