Description

This patriotic red, white and blue mix knows just how to start a party in your borders! Our Lupin 'Street Party Collection' is a blend of three well-respected varieties that have each stood the test of time, and are still as popular as ever. Lupins are perfect for delivering colour and structure to planting schemes in early summer. These hardy perennials are reliable and easy to grow, returning bigger and better each year. Height: 90cm (35"). Spread: 75cm (30").

  • Collection comprises:
  • Lupin 'My Castle' - Vibrant red blooms bring height and grandeur to summer borders.
  • Lupin 'Noble Maiden' - Pure white flower spikes that put on a magnificent display year after year.
  • Lupin 'The Governor' - Bicolour pea-like flowers are tightly packed on tall architectural spires.

30 bare root lupin plants - 10 of each variety (V78593P)
15 bare root lupin plants - 5 of each variety (V17719P)

How to Grow
Caution: Harmful if eaten. Plant Lupin bareroots at the earliest opportunity following delivery. Should soil conditions prevent planting directly into borders (if soil is frozen or waterlogged), bareroots should be potted up, watered sparingly and grown on in a cool position for planting out at a later date. Choose a sunny or semi shaded position in moist, well drained soil and work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Dig a hole wide enough to accommodate the bareroot with its roots spread out and deep enough that the crown of the plant is just a few cm below soil level. Backfill the hole with soil and firm the plant in gently. Leave a slight depression around the plant - this will help to direct water towards the roots.
More Info
Water well to settle the soil. Feed and water regularly until plants are established. Cut back faded flower spikes to encourage a second flush to be produced. In autumn, remove any yellowing foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
