Description
Lilac 'Primrose' is an unusual variety bearing showy panicles of creamy-yellow flowers with a heavenly perfume. Like all Syringa, the heart shaped foliage makes an attractive backdrop for the late spring blooms. In full flower, this hardy deciduous shrub is a magnet for bees and butterflies making it a great choice for wildlife gardens. The fragrant blooms make superb cut flowers for late spring bouquets. Reliable and undemanding, this RHS AGM variety is perfect for bring colour and fragrance to cottage gardens, wildlife areas and sensory planting schemes. Height and spread: 4m (13’).

How to Grow
Grow lilac plants in rich fertile, well drained, neutral or alkaline soil in full sun. Young Lilacs will benefit from a sheltered position.

Feed and water regularly throughout the growing season while young plants become established. Prune lilac bushes in winter or spring by removing any damaged, diseased or misplaced stems before lightly shaping the remaining stems. After pruning, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the shrub.
