Description
Brighten up a dark corner of the garden with the bold, variegated foliage of Hosta ‘Patriot’ This RHS AGM variety boasts broad, olive green leaves with an irregular white margin that reflects light into shaded borders. With a vigorous habit, this popular Hosta makes excellent ground cover. In summer, the upright pale-purple flower spikes create a pretty focal point. Plantain Lilies are ideal for creating dense ground cover in damp, shaded areas or adding a leafy feel to borders and containers. Height: 100cm (39"). Spread: 75cm (29").

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

How to Grow
Grow Hosta plants in sun or dappled shade, on rich, moist, well-drained soil. Plants can grow well in a sunny border, but will need to be kept reliably moist. Plants may perform better on slightly acid soils. Before planting, work some fresh compost or general fertiliser into the top 20cm of the soil. Alternatively plant Hostas in patio containers in soil based compost such as John Innes No. 3.
More Info
In autumn, remove old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Lift and divide Hosta plants in autumn every third year to maintain their vigour.

For more information on how we send your plants please visit our Helpful Guide on plant sizes.

Thompson & Morgan strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3
