Escallonia 'Showstopper' is a ground-breaking new variety that combines the larger, higher quality flowers produced from new Escallonia breeding with a dense, compact habit that forms a mound of colour all summer long. Each tubular flower is dark pink around the petal tips, which fades to pale pink at the throat. The long-lasting blooms are beautifully offset by small, glossy dark green leaves. Perfect for patio pots, low hedges or low maintenance gardens, this free-flowering evergreen shrub will steal the show in your garden! Loved by bees and butterflies, it’s a great choice for wildlife areas too. Escallonia 'Showstopper' thrives in a sheltered spot in full sun or part shade in a free-draining soil, and is hardy to -8C. Height: 120cm (47in). Spread: 80cm (31in).

Grow Escallonia plants on fertile, well-drained soil in full sun with shelter from cold, drying winds.
More Info Deadhead Escallonia plants regularly to encourage further blooms. During late spring, lightly cut back any shoots that spoil the symmetry of the plant. Mulch the plants with well-rotted compost or manure around the base of the plant at the same time.
