Perfect for adding an exotic feel to the garden! Dahlia ‘Mambo’ is an anemone type with a big impact in borders, beds and patio pots. Fabulous, mauve-pink, double blooms with gold-tipped petals are borne on neat, bushy plants throughout summer. If you can spare a few, they make wonderful cut flowers for a vase indoors. Lift the tubers in autumn to save them for a repeat display the following year. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 45cm (18").

Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
More Info Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While dahlia plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Bedding dahlia are generally grown as annuals, however dahlia tubers may be lifted in autumn and stored over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position if required. They can be potted up the following spring.
