Cytisus x praecox 'Albus' is easy to keep, requiring very little maintenance, as is the case with most plants of this variety and will tolerate most soil types and conditions, although the blooms will always look best with the sun shining on them! Height: 150cm (59"). Spread 150cm (59").

How to Grow

Plant Broom into garden borders in fertile, well drained garden soil, in full shade Cytisus is a very useful shrub, which can also tolerate poor soils, or planting onto sloping ground.

Broom should be trimmed back during May, after plants have flowered. You can also rejuvenate Broom plants over a 3 year period by pruning out a third of the branches each year, again after flowering.
