Description

Campanula poscharskyana 'Silver Rain' is a delightful perennial that enchants gardeners with its abundance of soft, pale flowers and its graceful, cascading growth habit. This low-growing plant is particularly well-suited for softening the edges of pathways, walls, or rockeries, adding a touch of elegance to any landscape. Its ability to create a lush, dense mat of trailing green foliage enhances its appeal, especially in mild winter climates where it remains semi-evergreen, providing year-round interest.

From late spring through summer, 'Silver Rain' bursts into bloom with an impressive display of silvery-lilac, star-shaped flowers that dance in the breeze. This vibrant floral show not only beautifies the garden but also serves a vital ecological role by attracting a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies. Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for sunny or partially shaded areas, where it can thrive as ground cover, in containers, or as an underplanting option, seamlessly blending with other plants and enhancing the overall aesthetic.

One of the standout features of Campanula poscharskyana 'Silver Rain' is its low maintenance requirements, making it an ideal choice for both novice and experienced gardeners. Once established, it demonstrates remarkable resilience, thriving in well-drained soil and tolerating dry conditions. This hardy perennial is well-suited for gardens throughout the UK, spreading quickly to create a beautiful, carpet-like effect that requires minimal care, allowing gardeners to enjoy its charm without the burden of extensive upkeep. Height: 15 cm (6 in) Spread: 60 cm (2 ft).

For more information and guidance check out our Gardening Guides.

More Info
Water regularly until Campanula plants are fully established. After flowering, cut back the plants to remove faded Campanula flowers and promote a second flush of blooms. Divide overcrowded clumps in spring or autumn to maintain vigour.
