Flowering Months
Water regularly until plants are fully established. Deadhead faded calendula flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced and prevent them from self seeding. Culinary note: Calendula flowers are edible. The petals have been used as a substitute for saffron, and they make a bright and zesty addition to salads.
Pot up calendula plants and grow them on in frost free conditions for transplanting outdoors later on. When plants are well-grown and all risk of frost has passed, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over a period of 7 to 10 days, before planting them in borders and containers in sun or partial shade.

Twelve plants bought, seven plants fit enough to survive 2015-11-06

I've now paid for 12 of these and have seven that even survived post potting on. Banana Blizzard was potted at the same time and in identical conditions to its companions. Yet again it is the one that failed. While the others are ready for the garden already, Banana Blizzard is a withered little shred of evidence that there was once a plant there. Very disapponting, especially at these prices! Customer care have yet to respond to my email, as asked for, following my previous review of these calendulas. WHy ask people to email when an auto-reposnse is all that is ever sent back?!

T&M replied on 2015-06-11: Thank you for your review. I am very sorry to learn of your disappointment with your purchase, and that you have not had a response to your emails. I have managed to locate your emails and have replied accordingly for you.

Not all hardy for transit! 2015-10-05

I am looking forward to these blooming all year round. I ordered two lots of four and have six remaining, which are doing well now. One Banana Blizzard, though, was so smashed up in transit that it could not be saved and one Peach Polar gave up shorty after that. These do need careful handling until better established, but the postal process is beyond control of either grower or buyer. More protective packaging than plug packs in a cardboard sleeve might have saved the two that were lost here. Those that suvived though are growing on beautifuly well and will add a lovely splash of colour throughout the year.

T&M replied on 2015-05-13: Thank you for your review. I am happy to hear that the majority of your plants are performing well. If you would like to contact our Customer Care Team on ccare@thompson-morgan.com regarding the two plants which have failed, one of our agents will be happy to investigate this matter further.
