Description

Aquilegia ‘Rose Queen’ is a delightful perennial that embodies the essence of a charming cottage garden, captivating onlookers with its soft pink blooms adorned with graceful spurs. This enchanting plant flourishes from late spring to early summer, offering a romantic display that enhances any garden setting. Its upright habit and delicate flowers create a striking visual appeal, making it a favored choice for those seeking to cultivate a serene and inviting atmosphere in their outdoor spaces.

The foliage of Aquilegia ‘Rose Queen’ is equally noteworthy, featuring fern-like leaves that contribute texture and interest long after the flowers have faded. This deciduous perennial not only adds beauty but also serves as a vital resource for pollinators, attracting bees and other beneficial insects that play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy garden ecosystem. Its adaptability allows it to thrive in a range of conditions, from full sun to partial shade, while it prefers moist yet well-drained soil, demonstrating a remarkable tolerance for various garden environments.

As a hardy perennial well-suited to UK conditions, Aquilegia ‘Rose Queen’ may even self-seed, occasionally yielding delightful natural variations that enhance its charm. This characteristic makes it an excellent choice for informal planting schemes, where a touch of spontaneity is desired. With its reliable growth and low maintenance requirements, this exquisite plant not only enriches the aesthetic of any garden but also supports biodiversity, making it a truly valuable addition to any landscape. Height: 75 cm (30 in) Spread: 45 cm (18 in).
