Enjoy an explosion of colour from this pretty new Abelia! The glossy, semi-evergreen leaves emerge in shades of lime green and yellow, intensifying as summer progresses and eventually gaining shades of fiery orange and red in the autumn. To complement this striking foliage, Abelia x grandiflora 'Kaleidoscope' produces a profusion of delicate white, lightly fragrant blooms from July to October. Bred to have a dense, compact habit, this super little shrub is a great addition to borders and patio containers. Height 75cm (30"). Spread: 100cm (39").

Plant Abelia x grandiflora in garden borders in any fertile, well drained garden soil, in full sun. Alternatively grow Abelia plants in patio containers using soil based compost such as John Innes No.3.
More Info Feed and water container-grown plants regularly. Deadhead faded Abelia flowers to prolong the flowering season. In exposed areas or those where winters are severe, apply a deep bark mulch around the base of Glossy Abelia plants in autumn to protect the roots from winter cold. Take care not to mound mulch up against the main stem. Alternatively protect with horticultural fleece. In late spring, trim Abelia x grandiflora lightly and remove any shoots which spoil the symmetry of the plant.
