A profusion of upright flower spikes are borne above a dense matt of deep green, toothed foliage. This hard working little perennial blooms endlessly throughout the summer, making it a great patio plant and a real asset towards the front of borders. Veronica spicata ‘Snow Candles’ is a spreading plant that forms good ground cover in well drained soils, and attracts pollinating insects to its nectar rich blooms. Height: 20cm (10"). Pot up Veronica plants and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions until plants are well grown. When all risk of frost has passed, gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions over 7-10 days before planting out in their final positions. Choose a sunny or semi-shaded position in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Veronica prefers a fertile, humus rich soil so work some well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil prior to planting.
How to Grow Deadhead faded veronica flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. In autumn, cut back old foliage and apply a mulch of well rotted manure to the base of the plant.
