Best known as Roman Chamomile, Chamaemelum nobile is a useful medicinal herb. Aromatic feathery foliage forms a dense evergreen mat that will happily creep about the herb garden. Throughout the summer, this hardy perennial produces an abundance of white daisy blooms that may be dried for pot pourri or making your own chamomile tea. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 45cm (18").

How to Grow

Grow Chamomile plants in fertile, well drained or sandy soil. Choose a position towards the front of the border in full sun.

Feed and water plants regularly until they are fully established. Chamomile is generally a short lived perennial. However its longevity may be increased by cutting plants back to just a few inches above ground level immediately after flowering, to encourage a flush of strong new growth.
