This dazzling Lychnis is a wonderful choice for a hot-themed border or for sunny containers. Its dwarf form doesn’t compromise on colour with sizzling, red-orange flowers with notched petals which contrast beautifully against the dark burgundy leaves. Flowering from late spring to summer with sometimes an occasional repeat in autumn, it enjoys sharply drained soils. Height: 30cm (12”). Spread: 20cm (8”).

How to Grow

Grow Lychnis in a sunny position on fertile, well drained soil.

Deadhead faded Lychnis flowers regularly to prolong flowering and prevent unwanted seedlings. In autumn, cut back the old foliage and faded flower stems to just above ground level to make way for new growth in the spring.
