Video
A majestic and well known variety that is prized for its breathtaking autumn display. Star-shaped, bright green leaves turn to purple, and finally scarlet and orange in autumn. This deciduous tree has deeply fissured bark which creates an attractive winter silhouette. Over time, Liquidambar styraciflua 'Worplesdon' forms a large tree with a broad, spreading crown. It is unsuitable for small gardens, but if you have the space then this tree certainly will create a magnificent centrepiece. Height: 25m (80’). Spread: 12m (40’).

Plant Liquidambar trees into any moist, fertile, well drained soil in sun or semi-shade. Although Liquidambar prefers a neutral to acid soil, it is lime-tolerant in chalky areas provided that it has sufficient depth of soil. For the best autumn colours, choose a position in full sun.
More Info Feed and water regularly until fully established. Liquidambar will require very little pruning, however, damaged or misplaced shoots may be pruned out in winter or early spring while the tree is dormant.
