Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' lives up its name, producing a prostrate framework of low spreading branches. The dense, needle-like foliage is silvery-blue, becoming bluer throughout the coldest months. This Flaky Juniper forms excellent evergreen ground cover, and looks spectacular cascading down banks or over low rockery walls. Juniperus squamata 'Blue Carpet' is easy to grow and holds an RHS AGM for its exceptional garden performance. Height: 50cm (20"). Spread: 2.5m (8').

How to Grow

Plant Junipers in a sunny or lightly shaded position, in any well drained soil; juniper trees tolerate dry, chalky or sandy soils. Incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil prior to planting, mixing it thoroughly and deeply.
