Description How to Grow More Info Delivery
Iris setosa 'Baby Blue' is a charming little Iris of petite proportions, reaching just 20cm (8") tall. Violet veins decorate the lavender-blue petals, which are splashed with white at the centre of each bloom. This hardy perennial produces a clump of slender leaves that add an upright element to alpine planting schemes and rockeries, or dotted through the front of borders. Commonly known as the Beachhead Iris, it makes a lovely display positioned next to the edge of a pond where its blooms are reflected beautifully in still water. Height: 20cm (8"). Spread: 30cm (12").

Flowering Months
Overcrowded clumps of iris plants can be divided in late summer after flowering. Avoid mulching the rhizomes to prevent them from rotting over winter.
Iris setosa enjoys a sunny or semi-shaded position in well drained, neutral to slightly acid soil. These perennials prefer a free draining soil, so amend heavy clay soils with plenty of grit and well rotted manure prior to planting. When planting iris, ensure that the rhizome sits just at the soil surface as they are prone to rot if planted too deeply.
