Godetia, now known as Clarkia, is one of the most rewarding annuals. A cinch to grow from seed, it pumps out showy flowers all summer. Godetia ‘T&M Azalea Flowered Mixed’ comes in an array of elegant pink, lilac and purple shades that are easy to place in the border. The semi-double, Azalea-shaped blooms have waved, frilled petals that resemble silk crepe. This gorgeous annual makes a splendid addition to borders and a stylish container display. The blooms are also fabulous for cutting. Height: 40cm (15in). Spread: 30cm (12in).

Direct sow Godetia seeds outdoors where they are to grow from March to May. Choose a position in full sun on well drained soil which has been raked to a fine tilth. Sow seeds thinly, at a depth of 15mm (⅙in) in drills spaced 30cm (12”) apart and cover the seed with its own depth of soil to exclude light. Water the ground regularly, especially during dry periods. Germination usually takes 7 - 14 days. When Clarkia seedlings are large enough to handle, thin them out to 20cm (8”) apart.
