'Ivanetti' is a perfectly formed miniature pompom dahlia with deep purplish-crimson flowers measuring about 8cm across held on sturdy stems well above the foliage. One of the smaller flowered varieties, it is extremely free-flowering, producing an abundance of weather-resistant blooms from midsummer until autumn. Blends beautifully into herbaceous borders as well as making an excellent container specimen. Also superb for exhibition and long-lasting cut flowers. Height: 90cm (36in). Spread: 50cm (20in).

Plant Dahlia tubers outdoors in April after all risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position in moist well drained soil. Prepare the soil by digging in plenty of well rotted manure or compost. Plant tubers at a depth of 15cm (6") and water well. Alternatively, start tubers into growth in pots of compost in a frost free greenhouse. Transplant them into their final positions outdoors in June.
More Info Feed and water dahlias regularly throughout the growing season. While dahlia plants are still young, pinch out the growing tip of each stem to encourage bushier growth and masses of flowers. Deadhead faded dahlia flowers to encourage more blooms to be produced. Bedding dahlia are generally grown as annuals, however dahlia tubers may be lifted in autumn and stored over winter in trays of peat or sand, in a cool but frost free position if required. They can be potted up the following spring.
