Flowering Months

Huge, heart-shaped leaves, illuminated in silver and etched with green veins make Brunnera ‘Jack of Diamonds’ a stand-out perennial for shade. The largest-leaved of all Brunnera, each leaf measures around 24cm, forming neat clumps of overlapping leaves that provide bold structure, texture and colour. In spring, sprays of blue forget-me-not type flowers hover above the foliage, luring early pollinators. Brunnera ‘Jack of Diamonds’ makes superb ground cover for a shady border, its enormous leaves provide interest throughout the season and are excellent contrasted with feathery ferns and dark-leaved heucheras. Copes well with challenging sites in dry shade. Height: 45cm (18in). Spread: 75cm (30in).

How to Grow

Plant Brunnera plants in sun, semi shade or dappled shade. Brunnera plants prefer a well drained, moist, fertile soil. On drier soils, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or compost prior to planting and choose a shaded position.

Water Brunnera plants regularly throughout summer until fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps of Siberian Bugloss in spring to maintain their vigour.
