This eye-catching hardy perennial is perfect for dotting through borders where it will happily seed about without ever becoming a nuisance. Columbines are loved by pollinating insects for their rich supply of nectar. If you can spare a few stems, they also make an attractive cut flower to enjoy indoors. Height: 90cm (36"). How to Grow

Grow aquilegias in a sun or part shade in fertile, moist, well drained soil.

Columbines hybridize readily, be aware that any self-sown seedlings may not come true to type. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead faded aquilegia flowers to prevent them self seeding. Aquilegias dislike disturbance but overcrowded clumps may be lifted and divided in spring when necessary.
