How to Grow
Pot up Alstroemeria plants and grow them on in frost free conditions until large enough to plant outdoors once the risk of frost has passed. Alstroemerias perform best in a sunny, sheltered spot in a rich, moist but free-draining soil that contains lots of organic matter. A fortnightly feed with a high-potassium feed such as tomato food will encourage prolific blooming, while removing each stem after the flowers have faded will prolong the flowering season. Tall stems may benefit from staking or support to prevent wind damage. Though most alstromerias are hardy, they will benefit from an autumn mulch if in a border, or if in a container, being moved to a frost-free spot over winter.

Caution: irritant to skin and eyes
