The large spherical blooms are also magnificent in cut flower displays and their architectual seed heads continue the display well into the Autumn. Foliage stays green year-round, offering valuable winter ground cover. Hardier than most other modern introductions, Agapanthus Duo Collection requires little upkeep, performing well on the poorest of soils, and in the confines of a patio pot, where good drainage is provided. How to Grow

Grow Agapanthus plants in rich fertile, well drained soil, in a sunny position. When growing Agapanthus in patio containers use a soil based compost, such as John Innes No.3 .

Feed and water African Lilies regularly throughout the growing season. Leave faded Agapanthus flower stems intact to enjoy their architectural seed heads during autumn. When the first frost blacken the seed heads, cut the stems back to ground level. Protect plants outdoors from severe winter weather by providing a dry mulch of bark chips or straw in late autumn. Container grown plants can be moved to a frost free position over winter. Divide agapanthus clumps in spring when they become over crowded.
