Description

This magnificent duo of Weigela make a spectacular display in May and June. Specially selected for a columnar, upright habit, Weigela 'Towers of Flowers'® are perfect for even the smallest of garden! These narrow, deciduous shrubs produce an abundance of trumpet-shaped blooms along the entire length of each stem, creating splendid pillars of colour. The stems are densely cloaked in dark green foliage which emerges with a bronze tint in early spring. Like all Weigela, they are loved by pollinating insects. Grow this duo in sunny borders or large containers in the patio. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 90cm (36").

Weigela 'Towers of Flowers'® Duo combines two varieties, ‘Appleblossom’ and ‘Cherry’. Height: 120cm (48"). Spread: 90cm (36").

2 x 9cm potted weigela plants (1 of each variety) (KB5878)

How to Grow
Grow Weigela in a sunny or semi shaded position, in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. Plant Weigela at the same depth as they were planted in their pots. Backfill the planting hole and water well to settle the soil.
More Info
Water regularly throughout the growing season until young plants are fully established. In spring, apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the plant. Weigela requires little pruning. After flowering cut back stems to a healthy bud and remove a fifth of the old stems to ground level.
