Sowing
Train Solanum against sturdy supports such as trellis or strong wires attached to walls and pergolas. Grow in a fertile, moist, free draining soil in a sunny position, preferably against a south-facing wall. When planting Solanum in poor soils, add plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to improve the soil structure.
